Dr. Sayed Himatt 
Dr. Sayed Himatt currently leads One Health initiatives at the Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET). His role involves enhancing EMPHNET's Epidemic Intelligence System, developing evidence-based operational manuals, and enhancing One Health capabilities, including FETPs.

Previously, in the State of Qatar, Dr. Himatt led the design and implementation of the Mass Gatherings EWARS for FIFA Arab Cup 2021, and FIFA World Cup 2022 events, deploying innovative interventions in surveillance and outbreak investigation. He also provided technical leadership and operational support as a supervisor of surveillance and COVID-19 case investigation teams. He also contributed to managing TB, HIV and Viral Hepatitis control programs in Qatar. 

Dr. Himatt has a long year of experience across fragile regions like Sudan and North Syria managing diverse high-threat pathogens and leading surveillance systems.

Dr. Himatt contributed with WHO in conducting JEE missions, IHR trainings in Somalia and Iraq, and conducted surveillance evaluations in North Syria. He is a medical doctor with a Clinical Medical Doctorate in Community Medicine and a European Master of Science in International Health (Tropical Medicine and Disease Control).
