Mr. Emad Mustafa
Assistant Executive Director of Nursing Critical Care – Corporate Nursing
Mr. Emad is responsible for standardizing and advancing the clinical practices in all ICUs and developing the policies and procedures based on the latest evidence-based practices. He is outcome driven leader with a strong background in critical care nursing leadership, operations, and education.
Mr. Emad is the chairperson of the Critical Care Nursing Network and admin lead for the Critical Care Centre. He is also the Nursing Lead for many corporate programs such as National Sepsis Program, Critical Care Flow, CRRT program, Tracheostomy program, Corporate Resuscitation. Senior instructor and course director for many accredited courses such as ALS, ILS, BLS, CRRT, RRT simulation course.
He worked as Director of Nursing for Critical Care services from 2017-2022 in HGH and Clinical Nurse Specialist Critical Care for two years, mainly for resuscitation and advanced skills in ICUs. He is the chairperson for HGH nursing research committee and a member in HGH Research Advisory group.
He is also involved in many research projects and mentored many Master students. He is a board member for American Association of Critical Care of Nurses (AACN) in collaboration with KSA and initiated the first chapter in the region outside the USA (2013).
He led on introducing and launching many crucial projects and programs which had a great impact on advancing critical care nursing across HMC such as: ECMO nursing expansion program, nurse-delivered replacement electrolytes protocol, Buddy system in Critical Care during COVID-19 Pandemic, CRRT program, Rover model and 72 hours approach in resuscitation process.
