Dr. Ian Howard is the Assistant Executive Director for Clinical Services at the Hamad Medical Corporation Ambulance Service (HMCAS) and is a registered Critical Care Paramedic. Ian holds PhDs in Emergency Medicine (Stellenbosch University, South Africa) and Medical Science (Karolinska Institute, Sweden), and master's degrees in Emergency Medicine (University of Cape Town, South Africa), Clinical Epidemiology (London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom) and Pharmacoepidemiology (University of Bordeaux, France). Dr Ian oversees the Critical Care Service of the HMCAS, as well as all clinical training, clinical governance, and patient safety activities within the service.
