
Dr. Samya Ahmad Al Abdulla
Dr. Samya is a Sr. Consultant of Family Medicine and the Executive Director of Operations at the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) in Qatar. She holds the position of Deputy National Lead for Mental Health & Wellbeing within the State of Qatar. She is also the Chairman of the Qatar Family & Community Medicine Society.
Dr. Samya is also the Assistant Professor of Family Medicine in Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College.
Providing strategic oversight of 31 health centers, Dr. Samya has been instrumental in designing and delivering innovative community health interventions, including annual health checkups (Rebranded previous Smart Checkups) and PHCC's New Health Center Program. Dr. Samya has been a key driver towards the implementation of the Family Medicine Model as well as regional specialist centers, integrated services such as cardiology and mental health, and the implementation of 24-hour urgent care, allowing patients to receive care and treatment closer to their homes.
Furthermore, as the Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) for the Community Screening and Vaccinations Health Tactical Command Group, Dr. Samya has been at the forefront of the national response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Samya was also the Chair of the FIFA World Cup Community Services Tactical Command Group, responsible for ensuring the safe and effective delivery of primary healthcare services to visitors and residents, during the tournament.
Dr. Samya's influence extends beyond operations, as she has authored numerous research papers on mental health and chronic diseases.
