Tulika Mehta Agarwal

Dr. Tulika Mehta Agarwal is the Clinical Psychologist of Trauma-Surgery section of Hamad General Hospital. She has been involved in establishing and running the Trauma Psychology service. She holds a Doctoral qualification in the field of clinical psychology and is a registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board, Qatar Council of Health Practitioners as well as Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists. In her career of over 18 years of working as a clinical psychologist, she has had the opportunity to work in the field of virtual reality and corporate psychology besides hospitals. She specializes in dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Depression and is proficient in the use of brief Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). 

She has keen interest in the field of research and has played key role in completion of several research projects on subjects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Organ Donation, Spinal injuries related Depression, Trauma patients screening, etc. She has several published researches in her name and periodically writes perspective articles in the subject of psychology. She has been a force in driving key change in the outlook of trauma service towards the importance of psychological interventions for patients of traumatic injuries and presently runs both inpatient and outpatient clinics for the service. 

She is passionate about care of mental health of patients. The opportunity to play a positive role in re-integration of patients of traumatic injuries back into normal life, acts as the biggest driving force in her present work. Besides psychology, she also has a keen interest in travelling to different places and believes in living a balanced life.
