A specialist in preventive and occupational medicine, lifestyle medicine, integrative medicine and public health, Dr. Ravinder Mamani is a Professor of Population Health Sciences and Professor of Medicine (Centre for Global Health), Weill Cornell Medicine, New York (WCM). At WCM’s international campus in Qatar (WCM-Q), where he is a full-time faculty member, Dr. Mamtani serves as Vice Dean for Population Health and Lifestyle Medicine. He is also a Professor of Community and Family Medicine (adjunct) at New York Medical College, Valhalla, New York.
Prior to joining WCM-Q in 2007, Dr. Mamtani was a Professor of Clinical Community and Preventive Medicine and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at New York Medical College, and an occupational and preventive medicine physician at Westchester Medical Centre, New York. He has several years of clinical experience in utilizing lifestyle and integrative medicine in the treatment of chronic diseases such as chronic pain, mental health conditions, obesity, and diabetes.
A renowned educator, Dr. Mamani has lectured on topics such as nutrition, clinical preventive and lifestyle medicine, occupational medicine, public health, infectious diseases, and global health. A co-founder of the Institute for Population Health at Cornell in Qatar he has provided leadership in developing and directing lifestyle medicine and population health educational and research programs. He has been an invited speaker on various topics in the US and abroad, and has published extensively in prestigious peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Mamtani serves or has served on many government, hospital, advisory board and medical school committees both in Qatar and USA. The ones that deserve special mention include his membership of the Ministry of Public Health Public Health Committee and Public Health Implementation Group in Qatar; New York State Board for Professional Medical Conduct; Advisory Board of the Int Board of Lifestyle Medicine, and his chairmanship of the Advisory Committee of Global Education in Medicine exchange program of ECFMG in USA. Dr. Mamtani is a diplomate of the American Board of Preventive Medicine in the specialties of Preventive Medicine, Public Health and Occupational Medicine. He is also US Board Certified in Lifestyle Medicine and Integrative Medicine.
