Dr. Stephanie Heller is a senior surgeon in the Division of Trauma, Critical Care, and General Surgery at Mayo Clinic, Minnesota, where she also serves as Associate Professor of Surgery. She has been a full-time trauma and acute care surgeon at Mayo Clinic since 2004, with clinical expertise in emergency general surgery, surgical wound care, and the management of enterocutaneous fistulae.

Dr. Heller earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Colorado before joining Mayo Clinic in 1998 for her general surgery residency and fellowship in surgical critical care. She further completed a fellowship in surgical education at Southern Illinois University.

A dedicated surgical educator and leader, Dr. Heller previously served as Vice Chair for Education in the Department of Surgery and as Program Director of the General Surgery Residency for eight years. She is a former Chair of the Division of Trauma, Critical Care, and General Surgery at Mayo Clinic and past Chair of the Surgery Residency Review Committee for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).​​
