Dr. Shameel Musthafa is an Associate Consultant in Acute Care Surgery at Hamad General Hospital, part of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in Qatar. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and completed his General Surgery training under the Arab Board of Health Specializations.
At HMC, Dr. Musthafa leads quality and safety initiatives within the Acute Care Surgery service, overseeing programs such as NSQIP and surgical registry development. He has pioneered high-impact multidisciplinary projects that have significantly enhanced patient outcomes, documentation standards, and postoperative recovery. His projects have been presented at leading local and international quality improvement conferences.
In addition to his clinical role, he serves as an Instructor in Clinical Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar and contributes to the academic community as a peer reviewer for several international surgical journals.
