Dr. Arturo Vilches Moraga is a Senior Consultant Geriatrician and Clinical Lead for Perioperative Care of Older People at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar. He earned his medical degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain, and completed his postgraduate training in the United Kingdom, including a Diploma in Geriatric Medicine, MSc in Geriatric Medicine, and specialist certification (CCST) in General Internal and Geriatric Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for his services to older patients.
Dr. Vilches Moraga is internationally recognized for his contributions to geriatric and perioperative care, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on topics such as frailty, delirium, thromboembolic disease, falls and syncope, perioperative medicine, and bedside ultrasound.
He also serves as a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Medicine, University of Greater Manchester, and has held leadership roles in the European Geriatric Medicine Society, the Spanish and British Geriatrics Societies, and the Centre for Excellence in Safety of Older People. His work bridges clinical innovation, education, and research in aging populations.
