Dr. Omar A. Bekdache is a Consultant General Surgeon at Tawam Hospital, Al Ain, and Sheikh Tahnoun Medical City (STMC) in the United Arab Emirates. He received his medical degree from the Lebanese University School of Medicine and pursued residency training in General Surgery at the American University of Beirut Medical Center and MGH. To further specialize, he completed a Clinical Fellowship in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery as well as a Master of Science in Experimental Surgery at McGill University in Canada. He subsequently undertook advanced fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Universities of Lille and Paris, France.

Dr. Bekdache is widely recognized for his professional achievements and holds several distinguished fellowships, including Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS), and the European Board of Surgery (EBSQ). In addition to his clinical role, he serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University, and has held leadership positions such as Past President of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) UAE Chapter.

His clinical and academic interests encompass trauma and acute care surgery, surgical oncology, and minimally invasive surgery. Beyond his surgical practice, Dr. Bekdache contributes significantly to education and professional development. He is a Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC), a member of the Canadian Association of General Surgeons (CAGS), and has been actively involved in surgical education as an Instructor and Director for ATLS and TEAM courses in both the UAE and Canada. He also teaches advanced trauma courses, including ATOM and ASSET, under the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.​​
