Dr. Khalid Ahmed

Consultant, Acute Care Surgery – Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar

Dr. Khalid ​Ahmed is a Consultant in Acute Care Surgery at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Qatar, and a distinguished academic and educator known for integrating clinical excellence with educational innovation. He holds dual master’s degrees in clinical research (Dresden International University) and Clinical Education (University of Edinburgh), and is a Fellow of the UK’s Higher Education Academy.

He serves as core faculty for the General Surgery Residency and Acute Care Surgery Fellowship programs in Qatar and is a member of the Examination Board of the Qatari Board of Medical Specialization. Internationally, he contributes as a Senior Teaching Assistant and journal reviewer for the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health’s Principles and Practice of Clinical Research (PPCR) program.

Dr. Ahmed is a published researcher and co-author of educational books, with peer-reviewed articles and contributions to global academic literature. He has been ranked among the top 1,000 scientists in Qatar for three consecutive years based on citation metrics and H-index.

Beyond his institutional roles, he is the Academic Secretary of the Sudanese Doctors Association in Qatar (SUDAQ), where he has spearheaded multiple CPD-accredited conferences and capacity-building workshops. His work reflects a deep commitment to surgical education, research mentorship, and empowering the next generation of healthcare professionals.​
