Dr. Hijran Mahdi is a Senior Consultant in Acute Care Surgery at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), with over 25 years of extensive experience in both open and minimally invasive general surgical procedures. He currently serves as Deputy Head of Acute Surgery and Team Leader at Hamad General Hospital.
Dr. Mahdi earned his Arab Board in General Surgery in 1997 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FRCSI) in 2001. In 2016, he completed a Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) Fellowship at the University of Calgary, Canada, enhancing his subspecialty expertise in complex liver and pancreatic surgery.
Since joining the Acute Care Surgery division in 2019, Dr. Mahdi has played a critical role in advancing high-acuity surgical services and mentoring multidisciplinary teams at HMC.
