Dr. Saud Al Turki, FRCS, ODTS-FACA
Dr. Saud Al Turki is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon and transformative healthcare leader whose distinguished career of more than three decades spans clinical excellence, national trauma education, academic leadership, and pioneering innovations in virtual reality–based medical training. He has played a central role in standardizing trauma life support across Saudi Arabia, advancing surgical and trauma curricula, and introducing immersive simulation technologies that have set new standards for medical education and certification in the region.
Since 1991, Dr. Al Turki has served as Chairman of the ATLS National Office in Saudi Arabia, where he successfully standardized Advanced Trauma Life Support training nationwide. He was the inaugural Region 17 Chief for the American College of Surgeons (MENA region), overseeing trauma-education initiatives in more than 20 countries. In his academic career, he served as Executive Director of Academic Affairs at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, where he directed curriculum development, accreditation, and faculty advancement at one of the Kingdom’s leading tertiary institutions.
As Founder and CEO of the Academy of Sciences (established in 2018), Dr. Al Turki created Saudi Arabia’s premier institute for advanced medical education, certification, and research. In addition, as CEO of VR Solutions, he has led the development of the Kingdom’s first VR-based medical training programs, including the First Responder Course, VR-BLS CPR in collaboration with the Saudi Heart Association, immersive police-investigation simulations, OSCE prototypes for the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, and workplace safety VR training modules.
Through his vision and leadership, Dr. Saud Al Turki has redefined trauma education and medical training in Saudi Arabia and the wider MENA region, leaving a legacy of innovation, excellence, and global collaboration.
