Dr. Abdullah Meshi

Dr. Abdullah Ahmed Meshi is a highly experienced Blood Bank and Transfusion consultant with over 20 years of expertise in patient care and blood donor management. Currently based in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, Dr. Meshi holds several key positions, including Chairperson of the Jazan Cluster Transfusion Committee and Ministry of Health Representative on the National Blood Bank Committee.

Dr. Meshi’s academic background is impressive, with a Ph.D. in Medicine & Therapeutics (Immunohaematology) from the College of Medicine and Dentistry in Aberdeen, Scotland, and a Master’s degree in Transfusion and Transplantation Sciences from the College of Medical Sciences in Bristol, England. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science from King Saud University in Riyadh.

Throughout his career, Dr. Meshi has been recognized for his contributions to the field, receiving accolades such as the Wiley appreciation for the author of a Top Cited Article in Vox Sanguinis and the Saudi Society of Transfusion Medicine appreciation award. He is also a recipient of the Research Excellence Award (Young Scientist Award) from the British Society for Blood Transfusion.

In addition to his clinical and research roles, Dr. Meshi is actively involved in scientific education and professional development, serving as a Program Accreditation Surveyor for the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and a Laboratory Surveyor for the Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions.

Dr. Meshi’s dedication to quality management and his leadership skills are further evidenced by his certifications, including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Change Management Professional (Prosci methodology)."
