Datuk Dr Mohamed Alwi Bin Hj Abdul Rahman

Datuk Dr. Mohamed Alwi Bin Hj Abdulrahman was born on 31 August in Malaysia and works as an emergency medicine physician and trauma specialist, practicing in Hospital Selayang as Head of Department of Emergency and Trauma. He finished Master of Emergency Medicine in USM, Kubang Kerian, Kelantan in 2002 and followed by post-graduate training in Emergency Planning and Disaster Management from University of Hertfordshire 2004. He received his undergraduate medical training in India. He had received specialized training in Prehospital Care from Ottawa Paramedic service in 2009 and CBRNE training with American and Japanese first responder team from 2007 till today. Currently, he is planning on a Phd studies in disaster medicine with special interest on CBRNE and Mass Casualty Incidence Management.

From 2007, he was appointed as the Trainer in CBRN Canadian program for the first responder in Malaysia. He had attended and presented papers in many international and national CBRN/disaster program and Humanitarian medicine conference. He had participated in many of national and international humanitarian mission in South East Asia, Middle East and Africa. He was the medical unit leader and trainer for international humanitarian mission from 2004 till 2013. He has wide experience in practicing in many field hospital and refugees camp in many countries including catastrophic Tsunami in Indonesia, India Sri Lanka, and Earthquake/Radiation disaster in Japan in 2012. He was involved in many health-related activities and training particularly training on Basic and Advance American disaster training, Hazmat, Tactical medicine, Hostage and kidnapping and wilderness training. He has wide level of humanitarian Medical relief work engagement with Malaysian Red Crescent Society in Thailand, Egypt, New Zealand, Philippines, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Egypt.

He has written few books, protocols and guidelines on Disaster Management in Malaysia and presented Papers in Many countries since few years ago. He is also the Pre-hospital care ambulance service coordinator and consultant in Disaster medicine for Ministry of Health. He trains the Malaysian Royal police force, Th SEARCCT Foreign Ministry as well Malaysian Red crescent in the field of Emergency and disaster medicine. His passion is to help people in need.

Currently he is the medical coordinator for foundations of Gugusan 1. Board of Director with Malaysian Artist Foundation and, Board of National Athlete and Sportmans foundations (YAKEB), which assist the veteran sportsman of the country and Board of studies in University of Technology, Malaysia. He is also the adjunct professor, USM-KLE University in India and invited professor in Indonesia.
