Dr. Anees K. Nile is the current Dean of the College of Medicine at Al Nahrain University in Baghdad since 2019. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the Iraqi Board of Medical Specialization and completed his surgical training in Iraq. He completed his training in general surgery and bariatric surgery in Baghdad in 2005. After completion of his training, he joined the College of Medicine as a Senior at the Department of Surgery.
In 2015, he was awarded the title of consultant in general surgery and in 2017, he was awarded the title of professor in general surgery.
Dr. Nile was involved in several administrative duties which included Board Member of Al Kadhymia Teaching Hospital 2006-2012, Chairman of ATLS Iraqi Chapter 2017, Board Member of Iraqi Fellowship program in bariatric surgery 2018. He is a supervisor and examiner of both Iraqi and Arab Board students in general surgery 2010-2020, member of ALSGBI, EAES, SAGES and IFSO.Presently, he is also the head of the dean's committee of the Iraqi Medical Colleges since 2019.
