Dr. Darren Taichman

Darren Taichman is Vice President and Executive Deputy Editor of Annals of Internal Medicine and the American College of Physicians. He practices Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his bachelor's degree, PhD and MD at Pennsylvania, Internal Medicine training and Chief Residency at Harvard's Beth Israel Hospital and the West Roxbury / Brockton Veterans Administrations Hospitals, Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowships at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and research fellowships in vascular biology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
His research has focused on vascular biology and the epidemiology of pulmonary arterial hypertension. Before joining Annals of Internal Medicine, he was Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center and Associate Director of Penn's Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program. Dr. Taichman is active in national and international leadership positions within the American College of Chest Physicians, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors.
