Dr. Said is a highly experienced senior scientist in Cancer Immunology with more than 30 years of expertise in the fields of academia and research. He has over 20 years of experience in establishing research groups / departments in the Arab world (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar). I obtained my Master and PhD degrees in immunology from Salford University (UK) in 1987 and 1992 respectively. After on, he joined the National Cancer Institute (Italy) from 1992-1994, then the NHLBI, NIH (USA) from 1995-1997 as postdoctoral fellow. He was also appointed as a Leader of the Lymphoma-Cancer Vaccine Team at the Paterson Institute for Cancer Research, Christie Hospital (UK; 5 years), he then moved to King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KSA; 6 years), as Senior Scientist, to establish and lead the Tumor Immunology Section. In 2008, he established the Department of Biomedical Research at Dasman Diabetes Institute as Department Chairman (Kuwait; 4 years). In 2012, he joined King Fahad Specialist Hospital Dammam (KSA; 3 years) to establish and lead the department of Biomedical Research. In 2015, he joined the National Centre for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR) at Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha (Qatar) as a director of the Translational Cancer Research Facility.

He has in-depth knowledge of designing therapeutic and prophylactic strategies and evaluating them in preclinical and clinical studies where was able to accomplish many achievements and develop novel approaches with respect to immunological assays of tumor immunity and cancer vaccines. He has been a major contributor to several scientific discoveries. He has published over 85 peer-reviewed articles in high impact factor journals and several book chapters. He is also an editor reviewer for the Frontiers in Immunology journal and a reviewer for many prestigious international scientific journals.
