Dr. Azza Adel Ibrahim Hassan
Dr. Azza Adel Ibrahim Hassan is the Chief of Palliative Medicine and Fellowship Director of Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the National Center for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR), Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) Doha, Qatar. She is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar and an Assistant Professor in Medical Research Institute at Alexandria University, Egypt.
Dr. Azza Adel Hassan completed her Medical education (M.B.B.Ch.) in 1986 from Alexandria University, Egypt. She obtained her Master and Doctorate Degree in Clinical Oncology. She got the certification of American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (ABHPM) in 2003.
Before joining NCCCR, she worked as an Assistant Consultant of Palliative Care Medicine at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, Saudi Arabia for 6 years as full-time physician. She joined NCCCR in 2008 and started the Palliative care service where HMC attained the Joint Commission International (JCI) certification and other achievements thru her leadership.
She has several publications in the field of Clinical Oncology and Palliative Medicine in peer-reviewed journals. She is an active member of Supportive and Palliative Care Working Group of European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), Middle East Cancer Consortium (MECC) and MASCC (Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer).
