Dr Turki Al-Hussain is a consultant pathologist and Deputy Chairman, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

After completing anatomic pathology residency at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in 2008, he joined the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a fellow in nephropathology (2009-2010), followed by urologic pathology fellowship at the Johns Hospital (2010-2012). He had more than 40 publications. Dr Al-Hussain is a founder and president of the Saudi Society of Anatomic Pathology (2021-to date).

NOTEWORTHY ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • Member of International Collaboration on Cancer Reporting (ICCR) Prostate Dataset Authoring Committee (DAC), 2022.
  • Member of Prostate Grading Committee. The 2014 International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP) Consensus Conference on Gleason Grading of Prostatic Carcinoma: Definition of Grading Patterns and Proposal for a New Grading System. This grading system has been accepted by the 2016 World Health Organization (WHO) Classification of Tumors of the Urinary System and Male Genital Organs.
