Latifa ARFAOUI

Latifa ARFAOUI is a Tunisian professional with a wealth of experience in Emergency Medicine and Public Health. Latifa holds a Doctorate in Medicine earned in 2011, complemented by a master's degree in public health obtained in 2017. Her academic prowess is coupled with practical expertise as an Emergency Medical Doctor at Regional and Teaching Hospitals in Tunisia from July 2012 to February 2015.

Her commitment to public health is evident through her role as the Public Health Emergency Operations Centre (PHEOC) coordinator from March 2015 to January 2019. Latifa's international experience includes serving as a Field Coordinator for health initiatives with the International Medical Corps (IMC) in Libya from August 2011 to May 2012.

In February 2019, Latifa joined the World Health Organization (WHO), initially as an Emergency Preparedness and Operations Officer in the Tunisia Country Office. Currently, she serves as a Technical Officer for the Emergency Medical Teams Initiative at the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office, a position she has held since September 2022.

Latifa is driven by a passion for emergency medicine and public health, exemplified by her continuous contributions to the field. Her extensive experience, coupled with her academic background and international exposure, positions her as an asset in the global health landscape. ​​
