
Carlos Yánez Benítez, MD, MSc, FACS is a General, Acute Care, and Trauma Surgeon Senior Consultant at the San Jorge University Hospital in Aragón, Spain. Aside from his clinical duties in his surgical unit, Carlos is also actively involved in various research projects related to hemorrhage control, extremity tourniquet use, trauma, acute care surgery, simulation, and MCI management in Europe (NIGHTINGALE). He is passionate about promoting education and training and has founded multiple courses related to bleeding control. Currently, Carlos is the chair of the Emergency Surgery Section of the European Society of Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ESTES). He is also a Stop the Bleed Ambassador, an International Definitive Surgical Trauma Care (DSTC), European Trauma Course (ETC), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) instructor, and founder and member of the steering committee of the Advanced Bleeding Control Course (ABC-C).
