
Ali Abdulla
Ali Abdulla joined the World Health Organization's Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office four years ago, focusing on Public Health Emergency Operation Centers (PHEOC). In this capacity, Ali assists member states in establishing and strengthening their PHEOCs. His role primarily involves supporting the development and implementation of various PHEOC plans and policies, including legal framework, multi-hazard response plans, contingency plans, PHEOC handbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), amongst other documents. Additionally, he contributes to the improvement of information management and information systems and process within the PEHOCs. Moreover, Ali supports capacity-building initiatives, where he coordinates various national and regional workshops that aim to equip PHEOCS with a skilled dedicated and surge staff. Ali also organizes simulation exercises that help test member states' existing documents/plans and highlight gaps in these plans, or in the workforce knowledge.
