Dr. Samya Ahmad Al Abdulla, a senior consultant of Family Medicine and Executive Director of Operations at Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), as well as the Deputy National Lead for Mental Health & Wellbeing in the State of Qatar. She has extensive experience for both clinical practice and healthcare leadership combined with a strong commitment to drive patient centric development in healthcare to achieve international quality standards.
Dr. Samya is also a faculty in Family Medicine Residency program and Assistant Professor of Family Medicine in Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College- Qatar.
Dr. Samya is passionate and driven towards improving access and quality of health services offered to the community of Qatar. She is well associated with the ongoing fight against diabetes and NCD where she has implemented and chaired many committees to identify and effectively manage diabetes.
As the Executive Director of Operation at PHCC, she has been instrumental in designing and delivering the implementation of innovative community health interventions. She has been the motivating force behind population health screening programs flourishing out of primary care centers such as SMART health check clinics.
Dr. Samya has been a key driver towards the implementation of the Family Medicine Model across all PHCC health centers as well as the implementation of specialist centers which include services such as mental health, cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology etc. within PHCC, allowing patient to receive care closer to their homes.
She has contributed and published several researches papers related to mental health and chronic diseases; and has been a speaker in numerous conferences both at international and local platforms.
