Dr. Rahma Salim
Deputy Director, Hamad International Training Centre
Hamad Medical Corporation

Dr. Rahma is the Deputy Director of Hamad International Training Centre (HITC) at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). She is a board certificated Emergency Medicine consultant and has successfully completed her fellowship in Trauma Critical Care in Qatar.

In addition, she serves as the Assistant Director of Clinical Skills and Simulation at the Training Centre which is one of the biggest providers of inter-professional training programs to healthcare within the state of Qatar and the region.

Dr. Salim showed interest in education from an early age, and soon found herself the clinical lead of many programs in HITC. This allowed her the opportunity to link both the education and training with the clinical areas directly impacting on patient care.
Dr. Salim is currently pursuing her master’s in leadership in healthcare education with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI).

The lockdown in response to COVID-19 pandemic, lead to disruption and interruption of all the educational activities. This response posed a lot of challenges to the training centre but opened up opportunities to learning new lessons and adapting to the new “norm”.
