Dr. Scott Patten

Dr. Scott Patten is a Professor at the Cumming School of Medicine in Calgary, Alberta. He obtained a medical doctorate (MD) from the University of Alberta (Edmonton, Canada) in 1986 and subsequently a specialist certification (FRCPC) in Psychiatry in 1991 and PhD in epidemiology (University of Calgary, Canada) in 1994. He is a practicing psychiatrist and psychiatric epidemiologist, having authored over 500 peer-reviewed publications. He is a contributor to multiple national and international studies concerned with mood disorder epidemiology and interventions to reduce the stigma that is associated with mental disorders. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry and a Senior Associate Editor of Epidemiology and Psychiatric Sciences.
