Dr. Nelli El-Ghazal

Dr. Nelli El-Ghazal is a child and adolescent psychologist in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services division at Sidra. In her role, she is responsible for providing assessment and therapeutic services in Arabic and English. She obtained her Masters and Ph.D. in School Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to being at Sidra, Dr. Nelli worked in the school system for five years and as a licensed psychologist in private practice for two years.
Her specialties are in the areas of psychological assessment, behavioral and academic interventions, anxiety, and school-based developmental, learning, and emotional disabilities. Dr. Nelli has a particular interest and expertise in working with the adolescent population as well as with crisis response and management. She also has a teaching and research background that has primarily focused on equipping teachers to adapt their knowledge and expertise to working with culturally diverse populations.
