Dr. Felice Watt

Dr Felice Watt comes from Perth, Western Australia (WA), where she held the position of Medical Co-Director Women’s Health, Genetics and Mental Health at King Edward Memorial Hospital, Women’s and Newborn Health Service, Western Australia’s only tertiary women’s hospital. In this position she had medical leadership responsibilities, overseeing the Department of Psychological Medicine, Mother and Baby Mental Health Unit, Women’s Health Policy, the WA Sexual Assault Referral Centre and Women’s Health Clinical Support Programs.
She completed her medical degree at University of Western Australia in 1995 and was made a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 1995. She currently holds an appointment as Clinical Senior Lecturer, School of Women’s and Infant’s Health, University of WA.
Following ten years in private practice, she went on to work as a consultation liaison psychiatrist in perinatal and women’s mental health at King Edward Hospital, where she became Head of Department, and also consulted at the Western Australia’s first Mother and Baby Inpatient Unit. Career highlights have included co-leading the development of Western Australia’s Perinatal and Infant Model of Care, implementation of the WA 2016 Mental Health Act, developing the Childbirth and Mental Illness Service for women with serious mental illness and their families, and introducing trauma informed care to the KEMH hospital setting.
