
Stephen D. Sisson MD FACP
Stephen D. Sisson is the Philip A. Tumulty Professor of Medicine and is Executive Director of Ambulatory Services at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Sisson went to college at Duke University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He then obtained his medical education at Tufts University School of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Sisson completed internship, residency, and chief residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Following chief residency, he joined the full time faculty in the Division of General Internal Medicine. From 1996 through 2011, he was Associate Program Director of the Osler Medical Residency Training Program. During that time, he also served as Medical Director of the Internal Medicine Housestaff Ambulatory Practice. From 2009 through 2013, Dr. Sisson was the Vice Chair, Clinical Operations for the Department of Medicine. From 2011 through 2013, he chaired the Johns Hopkins Clinical Practice Association Compliance Committee. In 2013, he assumed the position of Executive Director, Ambulatory Services at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. In all these positions, he has served on many associated committees, work groups, and task forces. He also maintains a busy Internal Medicine practice.
