Philip A. Masters, MD, FACP
Vice President, Membership and International Progams, American College of Physicians

Dr. Masters is Vice President, Membership and International Programs at the American College of Physicians (ACP).  In this position he oversees the college’s member engagement activities as well as the International Program initiatives.  For five years prior to assuming these duties, he was a Senior Physician Educator and Director of Content Development in the Medical Education Division of ACP.  In this role he oversees development of medical education resources for the entire range of constituencies served by ACP, including medical students, resident and fellow internal medicine trainees, and practicing internists.  He was the editor-in-chief of both the Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program (MKSAP) and Internal Medicine Essentials for Medical Students, and was involved in ACP’s High Value Care initiative.  He is a general internist and an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine where he continues to see patients.  Before coming to the College in 2011, he was the Vice Chair for Medical Education at the Penn State College of Medicine.  He is also a past president of the Clerkship Directors in Internal Medicine (CDIM), the national organization of internal medicine undergraduate medical educators, and founding board member of the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM).
