David J. Warner is Director, Center on Practice Development at ASHP, Bethesda, Md., where he directs ASHP Consulting for domestic and international clients involving consulting services for all aspects of pharmacy services and postgraduate pharmacy residency programs. He has worked for ASHP in full-time and contractor roles for 19 years in the Practice Advancement Office and the Accreditation Services Office, including former roles as Director, International Residency Program Development, Director of Residency Program Development, and as Accreditation Services Associate. He has been involved with international residency program development and accreditation for more than 10 years. Dr. Warner was Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer and Director of Pharmacy Education at Duke University Hospital in Durham, N.C. from 2010-2014. He earned his Pharm.D. from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy and completed a clinical pharmacy residency there. He practiced as a critical care and cardiology clinical pharmacist at University Hospital at UNMC, and as an Adjunct Faculty Member in the College of Pharmacy at UNMC for 10 years following his residency program.
