Prof. Basar Cander is the Chief of Emergency Medicine Department at Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Training and Research Hospital, President of Emergency Physician Association of Turkey (EPAT), President of the National and Intercontinental Emergency Medicine Congress, President of the International Critical Care and Emergency Medicine Congress, General Secretary of Critical Care Society in Turkey, Member of European Society of Emergency Medicine (EUSEM), owner and responsible Manager of Eurasian Journal of Emergency Medicine (EAJEM) and Journal of Emergency Medicine Case Reports (JEMCR).

He graduated from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (ÇAPA). He completed his training in emergency medicine at Necmettin Erbakan University Meram Medical Faculty in Konya. In 1998, after completion of his training, he joined as the head of the Department of Emergency Medicine in Konya Research and Training Hospital. İn 2006, he started to work as an associate professor at Selcuk University Meram Medical Faculty in Konya. He received his title of professor in 2011 and then, he continued to work as a professor at Selcuk University Meram Medical Faculty in Konya. In the same year, he became Department of First Aid and Emergency Chairman. İn 2013, while he was working at Selcuk University Meram Medical Faculty, at the same time he began to work as a education executor at Okmeydani Training and Research Hospital in Istanbul. He has working as the Chief of Emergency Medicine Department at Kanuni Sultan Suleyman Training and Research Hospital in Istanbul since 2018.
