Dr. Karina Silina

Dr. Karina Silina obtained her PhD from the University of Latvia, Faculty of Biology, for her work on the identification of novel cancer antigens with diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic potential.
For her first post doctorate, she participated in the generation of a cancer antigen microarray as an early diagnostic tool of gastric cancer, which was based on the detection of cancer autoantibodies in patients' sera.
For her second post doctorate, Dr. Silina moved to the University of Zurich, Institute of Experimental Immunology where she is currently working on the development of tertiary lymphoid structures, their role in anti-tumor immune response and their prognostic and predictive potential.
