Dr. Davide Bedognetti, MD, PhD 

Dr. Davide Bedognetti is Head of the Tumor Biology, Immunology, and Therapy Lab and Director of the Immunology, Inflammation and Metabolism Department at Sidra Medicine, Doha-Qatar. He is also Adjunct Associate Professor at the Hamad Bin Khalifa University. 

Dr. Bedognetti received his MD and PhD in Clinical and Experimental Oncology and Hematology from Genoa University, Italy. He completed his post-doctoral fellowship at the Infectious Disease and Immuno-genetics Section (IDIS) of the US National Institutes of Health (NIH). From 2013 to 2015, he served as the Director of the Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies (FOCIS) Center of Excellence at NIH Clinical Center. 

The main focus of Dr. Bedognetti's lab is defining genetic determinants of immune-responsiveness in solid tumors using systems biology approaches. The ultimate goal is to develop novel and more efficient immunotherapeutic strategies. 

Dr. Bedognetti has received several awards including the Merit and Young Investigator Awards of the Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). He is a member of the FOCIS Centers of Excellence Steering Committee, is the Chair of the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) Early Career Scientist Committee, and a member of the SITC Cancer Immune Responsiveness Taskforce. 

Dr. Bedognetti currently serves as the Editor of the Tumor Microenvironment Section for the Journal of Translational Medicine.  He has published more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, including Blood, Nature, Nature Communications, Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Journal of Immunology, Journal of Clinical Investigations, PNAS, Immunity, Oncoimmunology, and Clinical Cancer Research.
