Dr. Panithaya Chareonthaitawee, the Director of the Mayo Clinic Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory, Rochester, MN, USA
Dr. Chareonthaitawee is the Vice President of ASNC and the Director of the Mayo Clinic Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory, the Department Diversity Chair, and Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency of Mayo Clinic and a member of the Mayo Cardiovascular Fellowship Committee in Rochester.
Dr Chareonthaitawee is a board-certified cardiologist who is Professor of Medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University and her Medical Degree from Northwestern University. She completed her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowships at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN). She was an advanced fellow in cardiac PET imaging at the MRC Cyclotron Unit, Imperial College School of Medicine, London, United Kingdom.
She joined the staff of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine in 2000. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and American Heart Association (FAHA). She is the 2017-18 President of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Cardiovascular Council Board of Directors, and the Co-Chair and Chair of the 2018 and 2019 American Society of Nuclear Cardiology Program Committee, respectively. She is an Associate Editor Circulation Cardiovascular Imaging and a current or past editorial board member of JACC Cardiovascular Imaging, and Journal of Nuclear Cardiology.
