Dr Fatma graduated from Faculte de Medicine de Tunis. She pursued her internship at Columbia Missouri University Hospital, USA. Dr Fatma completed residency and fellowship in Internal Medicine and Chest Medicine at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, Oman. Later, Dr Fatma had joined the fellowship program in Infectious Diseases at Hamad Medical Corporation. Dr Fatma has great interest in research and has been recognized among Qatar-Top 1000
Scientists by the “AD Scientific Index 2023” World Scientist and University Ranking. Dr Fatma has several publications in high impact peer-reviewed journals, multiple ongoing research projects, and presentations at national and international conferences. Her research interest is focused on all aspects of Infectious Diseases, including SARS-CoV2 infection, viral central nervous system infection, immunization, infections in immunocompromised patients, epidemiology and mechanisms of multidrug resistance in gram-negative species, carbapenemase producing enterobacterales and Candida Auris.

Dr Fatma had completed a Harvard research course: Principles and Practice of Clinical Research (PPCR) in November 2019. Dr Fatma got multiple research awards: "Clinical Research Scholar Award" by PPCR Harvard T.H. CHAN, School of public Health, USA; "Best Original Research Award" for the academic year (2016, 2017, 2018) Medicine Department, Qatar; and "Excellence in Research Award" 2018 and 2019 annual award day- Communicable Diseases Centre and the Department of Medicine, Qatar.
