Dr. Singh has been working on Tuberculosis diagnostics, research, and development since last 22 years, starting from his masters and PhD research on molecular epidemiology and gene cloning of Tuberculosis. In 2007, He joined Ministry of Health, Oman, as in charge of National TB Reference Lab where he developed the TB genotyping facility and demonstrated how TB was spreading in the country with reference to local and expatriate population. Since he joined Hamad Medical Corporation in 2013 as a Clinical Scientist, his team developed and built TB lab from one room setup to two state of art BSL3 facility. Although, Tuberculosis is major focus throughout his carrier but he also managed molecular diagnostic need for other infectious diseases when required, such as managing CCHF outbreak in butchers, H1N1 Pandemic, establishment of PulseNet Middle East (i.e. a network of laboratories dedicated to Food and water born outbreaks) and establishing a diagnostics facility for COVID-19 pandemic at CDC. In his other professional excellence, he has served WHO missions to several countries in capacity of WHO Advisor. Recently, He has been appointed by College of American Pathologist (CAP) as a team leader for accreditation of Hospital laboratory. (Aspetar) Currently he is working to establish TB genotyping by Whole genome sequencing at CDC.
