Dr. Aftab Azad
Regional Director and Site Director Middle East, Canadian Emergency Ultrasound Society

Dr.  Aftab Azad graduated from the Arab Board of Emergency Medicine in 2010 and joined the McGill Emergency Medicine Royal College program. He was honored to be the First Qatari Citizen to receive the North American Training Program Certification in 2015.

Dr. Azad is interested in sports medicine and emergency ultrasound. He completed his advanced clinical Fellowship training in Sports Medicine at McGill University and joined Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, for a one-year emergency medicine ultrasound training program in July 2015. While at Massachusetts General Hospital he is working alongside world leaders in their field in order to receive the highest level of knowledge and to perfect his passion.

Dr. Azad recognized the need for emergency medicine ultrasound at his home department at Hamad Medical Corporation and developed collaborative training programs. He was appointed as the Regional Director of Middle East for the Canadian Emergency Ultrasound Society (CEUS) by the President of CEUS in March 2014, becoming the first Site Director of CEUS at Hamad Medical Corporation. Dr. Azad has special interests in developing ultrasound training in the region and has designed a curriculum of emergency medicine ultrasound in collaboration with other regional leaders in the field.
