Dr. Patrick Sheehan


Dr. Patrick Sheehan is the Division Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology at Sidra Medical & Research Centre and Associate Professor at Weill Cornel Medical School. He is a graduate of the Royal College of Surgeon of Ireland, graduating in 1987, He completed his residency in Otolaryngology in the UK before Fellowship training in pediatric otolaryngology at Great Ormond Street hospital and then awarded the prestigious TWJ fellowship in neuro-otology & pediatric otolaryngology in Toronto in 1999. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeon in Ireland and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He was a consultant in Manchester Children’s Hospital from 2000 and for a short period consultant at St Georges Hospital & Medical School in London prior to coming to Sidra. His interests are with children with special needs particularly children with Down syndrome. He also is an international advocate for better tracheotomy care for children and is active committee member on the Global Tracheotomy Collaborative which Sidra is a member of since 2014. He has published many articles on hearing rehabilitation of children with special needs and spoken at many international meeting on the above special interest topics.
