Manikkam (Suthan) Suthanthiran is the Chief of the Department of Transplantation Medicine at The NewYork-Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center (NYP-WCMC) and the Chief of Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. Dr. Suthanthiran holds the Stanton Griffis Distinguished Professor of Medicine and Professorships in Biochemistry and Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, New York Dr. Suthanthiran is an author of 225 original publications and 57 chapters and invited reviews and commentaries.  His laboratory has elucidated key mechanistic insights of exceptional clinical significance that have led to novel approaches to treating and monitoring transplant patients. Dr. Suthanthiran has been the recipient of numerous awards and distinctions including election to the American Society for Clinical Investigation, and the Association of American Physicians.  He has served as the President, American Society of Transplant Physicians; and the Editor of Transplantation. Notable awards include: Established Investigator Award, Distinguished Achievement Award, American Society of Transplantation Mentoring Award, all from American Society of Transplantation (1997); and the Jean Hamburger Award of The International Society of Nephrology.
