Dr. Akhnuwkh Jones, is a Senior Consultant, Department of Medicine, Hamad Medical Corporation. He is Co-Leader of the sepsis team for medicine at Hamad General Hospital and is actively involved as an IHI Certified Improvement Advisor.
Before Joining Hamad in July 2014, served as Hospitalist at Jennersville Regional Hospital located in Pennsylvania. As a hospitalist, he was recognized as one of the leading physicians in the world in 2013. In 2014, moved to Qatar to join the medicine department at Hamad General Hospital. Completed IHI internal fellowship for quality improvement at HMC, with commendation. Completed IA (Improvement Advisor), program for IHI.
His goal is to be a leader in quality improvement in healthcare and a role model for young physicians.
Dr. Jones was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the first capital of the United States of America. He studied at Penn State where he graduated with a degree in Biology in 2001. He graduated from Temple University School of Medicine, in 2006, located in his hometown of Philadelphia. Completed residency in Internal Medicine, at Lankenau Medical Center in Philadelphia, 2009. Same year obtained Board Certification in Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
