Clinical Pharmacy Specialist
Dr. Binny Thomas, a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist with more than 12 years of experience, currently coordinates the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at the Women’s Wellness and Research Center and the Medication Safety and Quality Center at HMC.
He completed his pharmacy graduate studies in India and gained postgraduate training and research methods certification from the UK's Robert Gordon University (RGU) in 2016. In 2019, he earned his PhD under Professor Derek Stewart's guidance at RGU's School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences, focusing on medication error causality and under-reporting. Dr. Thomas also holds a one-year certificate in infectious diseases from the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP).
Leading the qualitative research chapter at HMC's Corporate Pharmacy and Research Centre, his research interests encompass theory-based interventions to enhance healthcare medication practices and the implementation of antimicrobial stewardship. Dr. Thomas actively reviews for peer-reviewed journals and has authored over 30 research papers in esteemed publications.
