Dr. Ahmed Mahfouz is an acting assistant pharmacy director for clinical pharmacy service (Hamad Medical Corporation). He received his Bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical sciences (2001) from Tanta University, Egypt and completed his Master degree in Clinical Pharmacy (2017) from Queens University, Belfast, UK. He became a certified diabetes educator (CDE) in 2007, a board certified in pharmacotherapy specialty (BCPS) in 2009, and a certified anticoagulation care provider (CACP) in 2013. 

Over years of his practice in different countries, he gained a vast experience as a drug information pharmacist, a nutrition support pharmacist, an intravenous pharmacist and a clinical pharmacist (mainly in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit and General Cardiology), he was able to contribute as a member of the pharmacy team in assuring proper and safe distribution of medications. He had an active participation in the establishment of anticoagulation management service (ambulatory care), including the development of anticoagulation platforms. He has a unique participation in high technology related pharmacy projects and applying Joint Commission standards.

He has an active contribution in many committees, such as Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Medication Management and Use, Patient and Family Education. He is a clinical instructor/site coordinator and an advanced Clinical Internship Preceptor for Doctor of Pharmacy Program, College of Pharmacy (Qatar University). Dr. Mahfouz has several publications in international and national medical journals. He is a reviewer for few international medical journals.
