Doha,29 July 2025 - In a remarkable achievement that reflects Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of healthcare services, the Women’s Wellness and Research Center (WWRC) has been awarded the prestigious Gold Certification for Excellence in Person Centered Care by Planetree International. This global certification recognizes institutions that demonstrate outstanding dedication to placing patients at the heart of the care process.
With this milestone, WWRC becomes the first organization in the world to receive this certification based on Planetree’s new 2024 criteria and accreditation process and is now among an elite group of only 115 healthcare institutions worldwide to hold this distinguished recognition.
As Qatar’s largest tertiary hospital dedicated to women’s health, WWRC provides comprehensive care covering every stage of a woman’s reproductive life from preconception to childbirth, postnatal care, and overall wellness – while addressing physical, emotional, and social needs in an integrated, holistic manner.
The Gold Certification is granted to healthcare institutions that demonstrate a genuine and measurable commitment to person centered care. This includes active patient and family engagement in decision making, as well as embedding the values of compassion, transparency, and respect across all levels of service, ensuring a healthcare experience that is both human-centered and high quality.
