    ​​​​​​As part of the Employee Wellbeing and Wellness Program of Public Health Sector HR Leadership Committee

    Ramadan football tournament concluded with the coronation of the Medical Commission Team from Ministry of Public Health

    Doha - March 30, 2024, The Employee Wellbeing and Wellness Program of Public Health Sector HR Leadership Committee had organized Ramadan Football Tournament for Public Health Sector employees from 15 to 28 March and with the participation of 30 teams from Ministry of Public Health, Hamad Medical Corporation and Primary Health Care Corporation, 10 teams from each sector.

    Ms. Fatima Haidar Abdullah, HMC’s Chief of Business Services and Chairperson of Public Health Sector HR Leadership Committee, stressed that taking care of physical health is one of the pillars of the Employee Wellbeing and Wellness Program. “From this standpoint and since we believe in the importance of sport and its positive impact on physical health, this tournament was organized to encourage Public Health Sector employees to practice physical exercise, and it was also a unique opportunity to integrate employees in several social activities, which increases social interaction between them”, Ms. Fatima said.

    The final match of the tournament, which was held on Thursday, March 28, at Sherborne International School football yard, witnessed the coronation of the Medical Commission Team with the first place, led by Dr. Mohammed Al-Sayed from Ministry of Public Health, while Umm Salal Mohammed Center team from Primary Health Care Corporation came in second place, followed by the Wellness Services Team at Primary Health Care Corporation in third place.

    The prizes were presented to the winners by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al Khater, Communications Advisor to the Minister of Public Health and Chairperson of the Supreme Committee for Healthcare Communications, Sheikh Dr. Mohamed bin Hamad Al Thani, Director of the Non-communicable Diseases Prevention Programs Department at the Ministry of Public Health, and Dr. Abdulla Al Mansouri, Executive Director of Administration and Finance at the Primary Health Care Corporation.

    Mr. Ghanem Al-Mohannadi, Director of Human Resources Department at the Ministry of Public Health, was crowned the best player in the tournament, while Mr. Mahmoud Khairy from the Medical Commission Team at the Ministry of Public Health won the best scorer award, and Mr. Ghassan Bayoud, the goalkeeper of Umm Salal Mohammed Center Team, was selected as the best goalkeeper in the tournament.

    The closing ceremony of the tournament and the crowning of the winners were attended by Mr. Mohammed Swailem, Vice President of HMC’s Business Services, Mr. Nayef Al Shamari, Executive Director of HMC’s Media Department, Mr. Khalifa Al-Yafei, Acting Executive Director of Public Relations ,Mr.Hosam Rudwan, A/Executive Director HR-Employee Engagement and Mr. Ahmed Matar, HMC’s Assistant Executive Director of Human Resources.

    The crowned players were chosen by a team of judges led by Mr. Jamal Rahaimiya, a physical education teacher at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and a football coach at Aspire’s Talent Center.
