Hamad Medical Corporation to Start Evening Outpatients Clinics to enable Patients to Access Specialist Care Faster
Some routine follow-up consultations will be remote/telephonic starting from Ramadan
Doha, 19 March, 2023: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) will soon start evening clinics at the Ambulatory Care Center for high demand specialties including Ophthalmology, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Urology and Audiology.
The new evening clinics, which will enable patients to access specialized care faster, will start after the holy month of Ramadan. More specialties will be added at a later phase.
In addition, some of the routine follow-up consultations for outpatient appointments will be held virtually – via telephone – from the start of Ramadan onwards. Patients will be informed at the time of booking whether their appointment will be virtual, in addition the confirmation and Reminder SMS received by patients will confirm the mode of the consultation
Mr. Nasser Al Naimi, Deputy Chief of Quality for Center for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement and Director of Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute said the new measures were part of HMC’s commitment to ensuring patients were able to access the right care at the right time.
“These changes coupled with other proactive measures we recently announced - such as the implementation a new appointment booking process and system and establishing new referral management sections in each of HMC hospitals - will lead to improvements in wait times and clinic utilization across HMC,” Mr. Al Naimi added.
“As we continue to introduce new strategies and as our planned full range of initiatives are implemented, we will implement further improvements in access to healthcare for our patients.”
“Patients are reminded that the 16060 Nesma'ak Customer Service helpline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patients can call the 16060 Nesma'ak helpline and then select the appointment hotline service to manage their upcoming appointments at HMC facilities whether they want to pre-appoint/change or cancel it,” said Mr. Al Naimi.
