    HMC Receives 30 Paintings of Qatar’s heritage, Wildlife and Marine Life Donated by Al-Housh Art Gallery

    The artworks will be displayed in HMC’s facilities

    Doha,10 January, 2021: In an initiative to express appreciation of the efforts exerted by the medical staff of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in confronting the COVID-19 pandemic, Al-Housh Art Gallery of the Qatar Artistic Movement donated the 30 paintings which shall be displayed in HMC’s facilities. Mr. Ali Al-Khater, Chief Communications Officer at HMC received the donated paintings, while welcoming Mr. Ghanem Al-Ghanem, the owner of Al-Housh Art Gallery, who was accompanied by a number of Al-Housh Gallery members.

    Mr. Ali Al-khater expressed HMC’s thanks and appreciations for this pioneering community initiative from Al-Housh Gallery, praising its role in the enrichment of the artistic movement in Qatar and said: “We highly value this gallery’s initiative in donating these valuable paintings to HMC. HMC’s facilities shall be decorated by these expressive paintings that reflect HMC’s artistic flair as well as diversifying the views seen by the hospitals and health facilities’ visitors”.

    Mr. Ali Al-Khater presented some souvenir gifts and certificates of appreciations to all members the initiative delegation.

    Mr. Ghanem Al-Ghanem stressed the interest of Al-Housh Art Gallery, which was established in 2008, to contribute in the enrichment of the artistic movement in Qatar by organizing various exhibitions and motivating the public and members of the community to visit them. The gallery also encourages local artists to display their art works for a wider audience.

    Mr. Ghanem Al-Ghanem pointed out that his gallery shall donate HMC 140 paintings in total, with 30 paintings in the first batch.

    Mr. Salem Al-Mahanadi, the CEO of Seashore, the official sponsor of the gallery, stressed the importance of community participation in supporting the artistic movement, encouraging local artists and displaying their art works for the public in the best possible way. He further underlined the Seashore’s contribution in sponsoring Al-Housh Gallery and the company’s support for the initiative to donate paintings to HMC within its community role in supporting young artists and enriching the artist movement and serving the community.

    Mr. Ahmed Al-Kubaisi, CEO of Al-Housh Gallery explained that the paintings donated to the Corporation comprise various photos taken and prepared by a group of skilled Qatari and resident photographers. These paintings feature Qatari heritage issues as well as marine and wildlife in Qatar. The paintings were printed in sizes that properly fit the locations within HMC facilities where they are going to be displayed making them easily prominent for people to see.

    Mr. Mohamed Kamal Al-Emadi, coordinator of the Memories in Prints exhibition at Al-Housh Art Gallery, stated that the entire exhibition included more than 100 paintings from 55 artists and the paintings donated to HMC were selected from among the original copies. He further added that Al-Housh Gallery is currently continuing to hold a photo exhibition by the Qatari artist Khalifa Al-Obaidi in Mushairib, entitled “Qatar the Inspirational”. The gallery also organized several other exhibitions such as “Al-Khafgi liberation photo” exhibition and “Doha downtown” exhibition with the participation of 17 artists.

    The ceremony to handover the paintings to HMC was attended by: Mr. Hassan Mohamed Al-Hail, Executive Director of Media and Public Relations of HMC; Mr. Nayef Al-Shamari, A/ Executive Director of Media Department; Mr. Mohamed Musalam Al-Dossari, A/ Executive Director of Public Relations Department, Al Wakra Hospital; and Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Abdallah a physician and member of Al-Housh Art Gallery.
