Building on the success of previous years, Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Center for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement (CPESE) is organizing the ninth annual Stars of Excellence Awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of staff and their commitment to patients.
The annual celebration is the highlight of the year for many staff as it recognizes the efforts of teams who have worked on key projects to deliver the best possible care to patients. It also shines a spotlight on the people behind the projects, raising awareness of the great work they have done and the difference they make to patient lives.
A total of 508 healthcare improvement projects will compete for one of 29 trophies at this year’s Stars of Excellence Awards. These include the Managing Director’s Award, the Star of Excellence Award, and the Rising Star Award, each award has its own eligibility criteria and submission requirements.
Speaking about the planned celebration, Mr. Nasser Al Naimi, Deputy Chief Quality Group, Center for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement and Director of the Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute said the annual awards program, and the award ceremony, are a great opportunity to celebrate the work of employees and to acknowledge all that has been accomplished throughout the year.
“Since Her Excellency Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, established these awards in 2010, the awards have become a high point of the year. Since then, over 2,500 nominations from across HMC have been submitted and of these nominations, over 200 teams have been recognized for their outstanding contribution to HMC’s success in delivering high-quality patient care,” said Mr. Al Naimi.
“Building a great team is a challenging task so we should take pride in our team’s success and take the time to celebrate their achievements and acknowledge our appreciation. We will reap the rewards from their motivation and loyalty,” added Mr. Al Naimi.
“I take this opportunity to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the evaluators of the award submissions for generously providing their valuable time to give the submitted projects the consideration they deserve. After months of careful planning and preparation, we are ready to reveal the winners of this year’s Stars of Excellence Awards at our gala dinner later this month,” Mr. Al Naimi concluded.
