Dr. Syed Tanzeem Haider Raza, BSc, MB BS, FRCP, FRCP (Edin) MSc. Med Ed (Wales)
Dr. Tanzeem Haider Raza graduated from King Edward Medical College in 1979. He is currently working as a Consultant Physician in Acute Medicine at Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the UK. He was one of the pioneer physicians to set up the new specialty of Acute Medicine back in 1997. He continues to be the Lead Consultant for his large Acute Medicine Unit at Bournemouth, which has been at the forefront of developing new and innovative ways of looking after acutely ill medical patients. He was also the Regional Advisor for Acute Medicine in Wessex until 2014.
He has wide-ranging experience in education and training. He is the Director of Medical Education for his hospital in addition to being an honorary senior clinical lecturer with the University of Southampton. He is one of the senior examiners for PACES and was an External Assessor for the Royal College of Physicians London. He also works as an Associate Postgraduate Dean in the Wessex Deanery and sits on the executive board of the Wessex School of Postgraduate Medicine. He was also one of the Censors for the Royal College of Physicians of London. He is currently one of the elected members of the RCP Council. He previously worked as the Associate International Director for RCP London.
He has extensive experience as a facilitator for various training workshops, is accredited Educator for the Royal college of Physicians and has completed a Masters degree in Medical Education from Cardiff University.
