Dr. Abdul Razzakh Poil is Consultant Rheumatologist and Acting Head of Rheumatology section, Division of Medicine, at Al Wakra Hospital, HMC. He is also running a fulltime General Medical Inpatient team at Al Wakra.
He finished medical school at Calicut Medical College in India in 2002 and joined the Internal Medicine residency program at HMC in 2004 and in 2010 joined the rheumatology fellowship. He completed a two year EULAR online course on Rheumatic diseases and has been working as a consultant at HMC since 2014.
He has completed multiple researches and is a reviewer for MRC. One of his research works was accepted as a poster presentation at the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Conference 2013. His latest research paper “Outcome of 69 Pregnancies within a Multinational Population with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in Qatar” is accepted for publication where he is the first author.
He is certified in EULAR Intermediate Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. He is actively participating in teaching and training activities including Arab Board Review course for residents. He chaired the 2nd Qatar Internal Medicine Conference session on ‘the approach to patients with arthritis’. He is a member of the IHI Al Wakra medical ward committee and Al Wakra Biological therapeutic committee. He is also an organizer and sub editor of quarterly Medical Newsletter for Al Wakra hospital.
